Modern Lines, Classic Bones

This rear extension in Preston combines recycled brick and steel framing to deliver clean spans and high ceilings. Engineered to integrate with the original period home, the structure supports large glazed openings and a floating roof form, balancing heritage character with modern function.

Delivered Outcome

Extensive glazing required the use of multiple steel portal frames to maintain structural stability, particularly around the double-height living void. Tight site access posed construction challenges, demanding precise coordination to manoeuvre and install structural elements within constrained areas.
